Ruins of the castle keep of the "Königsburg" (King's castle) in early spring. Once a powerful 13th century fortress, guarding a important medieval trade route. Now a pile of stones serving as a tourist attraction.

A beautiful shot on a beautiful day. The angle gives you a feel for how it towered to protect the trade route. great job!

Not only is this a great photo!

But is it bad this reminds me of a specific point in World of Warcraft, between Taurn Mill and South Shore? This is seriously a replica of THAT broken down tower!

Umn, this is lovely. Especially the trees growing out of it; I'm sure that should symbolise something, but I daren't put it into words. What amazes me is how solid they are...

I really like this picture. When I first saw it, I instantly thought of Narnia. There's a part in the story where three characters hid in an abandoned place and this was exactly how I imagined it would look like. I also like the trees and grass that surround it, very nice.

It's nothing special here in Europe. You got at least one of these in every tiny village, no kidding. And many historic buildings (mainly churches), some more then 1000 years old, are still in use.

England got as much of these historic places as Germany.
You just have to look for them. Your city is more then 1000 years old so there are for sure lot's of medieval buildings. Often also in an excellent shape. Like e.g. [link] [link] (15/16th century buildings)

For sure you know St Peters Church, [link]
Which actually is as old as the city itself, and got it's current shape somewhere in the 15th century.

may be very helpful if you look for historic buildings in your town.

Nice shot! love the composition and color. One TINY thing bothers me though. In the upper right hand side there are some random little limps popping out. If you could use a healing brush or something to get rid of those, this would be perfect. :D
